Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says he is worried about the unfortunate effort by some to deliberately pitch Christians against Muslims in the on going debate on building a national cathedral.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa in a statement issued in Accra on Monday, September 9, 2018, said those engaged in what he said is a reckless incitement to be called to order. “They should be told to stop playing with fire if not an inferno.”

He said Ghanaians must not allow the debate to devide us. Adding that: “We have done pretty well as a country over the years to build a united cohesive State despite our religious diversity much to the admiration of the international community and we cannot afford to let ourselves down seeing the beautiful gains we have made.”

“Christians and Muslims have co-existed peacefully to the extent that unlike elsewhere, intermarriages and having members of the same nuclear family.”
