Tiffany Laddish has defended Kevin Hart to Lorraine Kelly following his Oscars backlash.
The 39-year-old actress said that ‘nobody’s perfect,’ in response to the actor’s homophobic tweets that were unearthed back from 2009 and 2010 in which he used the word ‘gay’ as a slur, as well as calling people f**s.
The Girls Trip star made her feelings known when Lorraine asked her if she’d be game for hosting the upcoming 91st Academy Awards alongside Kevin, to which she replied: ‘That would be cool.
‘It would be nice to have the ying and the yang there, you know? If we did it together it would be cool, but you need proper preparation time.’
She continued: ‘Kevin would’ve hosted it this year if they weren’t tripping off of things that he said in his past that he already apologised for. I say a lot of things and I don’t apologise because I think before I speak, if I say it, I mean it.’
Lorraine also supported Kevin, telling Tiffany: ‘I think the trouble is as well, anyone could dig up old things that you’ve said when you were younger, when you were a bit daft, when you weren’t thinking clearly, when you weren’t as educated as you are when you’re older, so it’s there and if you want to look for it you’ll find it.
‘The thing about that is, if you don’t make mistakes then you never learn anything.’
