The Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, says a lot more Ghanaians can be roped into the tax net if the newly introduced Tax Identification Number (TIN), is acquired by eligible tax payers.
Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs programme, ‘Talking Point’, the Chief Revenue Officer, Domestic Tax Division of the GRA, Martin Yamborigya underscored the capacity of the “TIN” to shore-up government’s revenue to undertake development projects.
Senior Associate of Ali Nakyea and Associates, William Owusu Demitia said the implementation of the Tax Identification Number will tackle the major taxation challenges of the country including identifying and tracking tax payers.
He said the TIN will help reduce loss of revenue, and so asked the GRA to put in place proper measures for everyone to obtain the TIN.
