Turn out in the ongoing referendum has been abysmally low in polling stations in Akpafu in the proposed Oti region.
At Akpafu Odomi SCMD shed polling station, out of 790 registered voters, only eight had voted as at midday.
The story is not different from Akpafu Odomi E. P. Primary school polling station.
As at a quarter past, 12 noon, only 29 out of 648 registered voters had turned up.
It is recalled that residents of Akpafu, Lolobi and other towns within the Hohoe municipality had kicked against splitting with Hohoe.
They are therefore not happy that they are being added to the proposed Oti region when Hohoe remains in the Volta Region.
The low turnout could therefore be their way of protestation.

At Kete – Krachi, the capital of Krachi West District, voting is underway smoothly.

The Krachiwura Nana Mprah Besemuna who is also the chairman for the Joint Consultative Committee, – the body spearheading the Oti region creation had also cast his vote at the Asetena house pulling station.

He was supported by his wife and Douglas Osei-Nti the DCE of Krachi west and other kinsmen.

Douglas Osei-Nti the DCE of Krachi west said he has made enough provisions for the island communities to also participate in the referendum.

They also tour some other pulling stations in the Krachi west district.
