Ghana’s U‑17 women’s team, the Black Maidens, delivered a dominant 6–0 win over Liberia in the first leg of their FIFA U‑17 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. The comprehensive victory gives Ghana a commanding advantage ahead of the return leg in Monrovia next weekend.

Daniella Abass opened the scoring in the 31st minute, breaking the deadlock after a period of sustained pressure. After halftime, Seidatu Wahab doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, and Linda Achiaa made it 3–0 just moments later, still in the 57th minute, showing clinical efficiency.

Jessica Appiah added a fourth in the 60th minute to stretch the lead further, before Priscilla Mensah made it 5–0 in the 73rd minute and Mavis Yeboah completed the rout with a late sixth goal.

The Black Maidens combined high energy, quick movement, and sharp finishing with good organization in midfield and defence, leaving Liberia unable to handle their intensity and attacking variety.

The emphatic result gives Ghana a strong platform in the qualification race, not only in terms of the aggregate score but also in terms of confidence ahead of the tougher challenge expected in the return leg in Monrovia.
