As part of efforts to monitor and regulate activities of gaming in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions, the Gaming Commission has established a regional branch of its office in the northern regional capital, Tamale.
Deputy Commissioner of the Gaming Commission, Kobby Annan who commissioned the office, indicated that underage children who are caught engaging in gaming activities stand to spend two years of their lives in Juvenile homes.
He subsequently cautioned operators of game centres not to allow children under the age of 18 years into their auditoriums, stressing that persons caught could be fined or prosecuted.
