As of 1000 hours, the fire outbreak at the Kasoa New Market had been completely extinguished.
The incident destroyed an unspecified number of metallic and wooden stalls, along with their contents, mainly food items.
Through the swift and professional efforts of Ghana National Fire Service, (GNFFS) personnel, thousands of stalls were salvaged, preventing a total loss. Thankfully, no casualties were recorded.
Meanwhile, fire tenders from Kasoa and Swedru remain on standby at the scene to address any possible re-ignition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
