V/R: Nyonyo Foundation donates PPEs to Ho Teaching Hospital

The Volta Regional Member of the Council of State, Francis Nyonyo has donated assorted medical and Personal Protective Equipment to the Ho Teaching Hospital and Anlo Health Directorate in the Volta Region as part of efforts to support medical staff in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The items worth 100 thousand Ghana Cedis is under the auspices of the Nyonyo Foundation, initiated by Mr Nyonyo for humanitarian assistance nationwide. The equipment include hundreds of surgical and N 95 masks, infrared thermometer guns, Veronica buckets, rolls of tissues, soaps, sanitizers among others.

At a brief ceremony to present the equipment at the Ho Teaching Hospital, the Member of Parliament for Anlo, Kofi Humado who represented Mr. Nyonyo said the gesture was in response to the risk that the Coronavirus poses to especially health workers who are at the forefront of the fight to contain the spread of the virus. He encouraged well-endowed Ghanaians to assist health facilities with the necessary resources to enable the country to win the fight against the pandemic.

The acting Chief Executive of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr. Lord Mensah thanked the Nyonyo Foundation for the support, saying that it will boost the morale of staff to intensify their fight against the virus. The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa who graced the ceremony emphasised the need for Ghanaians to comply with the World Health Organisation’s protocols as well as the government’s directives to stop the spread of the virus in the country.

The Volta Region has recorded 10 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
