Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has called on religious groups and Civil Society Organisations, to continue to speak and create awareness on the fight against corruption.

He was addressing Ahmadi Muslims at the 88th annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at Pomadze, near Winneba.

Dr Bawumiah asked Ghanaians to resist any attempt by individuals or groups to whip up sentiments of one religion against the another, stressing that Peace and Stability are key pillars for religious tolerance.

The three-day convention is dubbed: “Corruption, a threat to national development, peace and stability”. This, the Vice President says underscores the concerns expressed by society.

He indicated that religious tolerance in Ghana is a priceless gift from Allah and it behoves all to keep the country peaceful.

Dr Bawumiah said government since 2017 has undertaken pragmatic measures which has brought a major dimension to the fight against corruption in the country. It is therefore incumbent on all to join in the fight.
