The West African Examinations Council’s private examination is currently ongoing smoothly, however for some candidates it has been a missed opportunity to gain admission into the university.

For a frustrated candidate like Kwame, he missed his fourth opportunity to gain admission to his dream University due to lateness.

He is disappointed because he is going to have to wait for another year to re-sit his History paper to gain admission to the tertiary institution of his choice.

It was past twelve noon when candidates who wrote the History paper trooped out of the examination hall. Some candidates had smiles on their faces, hoping to pass and continue their education at the University level.

While these candidates were hopeful of passing their examination, a candidate who only gave his name as Kwame leaned against the wall looking frustrated. He had been prevented from entering the compound of the examination hall because he was ten minutes late for the History paper, which was number one for the day. Kwame told GBC’s Radio Ghana that he is very disappointed at not being allowed to write his last paper.

Parents of some candidates were spotted waiting patiently for their children to finish the exams. Meanwhile, WAEC officials were unwilling to comment on the unusual large number of candidates seen at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.
