As part of efforts to build the capacity of Basic School Teachers to obtain a minimum qualification of a First Degree, the College of Education at Sefwi Wiawso, has started a top-up programme in Post-Diploma courses in Basic Education.

Among the courses are Early Childhood Development, Primary Education, Technical Skills, Art, Social Studies and Vocational Skills.

The Principal of the College, Dr.  Emmanuel Carsamer, who gave the information in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana at Sefwi Wiawso, said feverish preparations have been made for the students’ safety due to the coronavirus crisis.

He noted that First Degree will be the minimum qualification since Diploma Certificates are getting out of the system.

Dr. Carsemer therefore entreated teachers to take advantage of the sandwich courses introduced by WATICO to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
