Women in Chereponi have petitioned President Akufo-Addo to intervene in the ongoing conflict in the area to prevent further bloodshed.

The women say they and their children, particularly those in remote parts of the district are the most affected in the communal clash.

The women have also appealed to the President to reverse the ban on the use of motorbikes by men in the area, saying it will worsen their plight.

More than five hundred residents of Chereponi, mostly women took to the streets to demonstrate over the ban.

Another spokesperson, Amidu Alidu Karandey, called for the lifting of the ban on the use of motorbikes.
