Real Madrid have completed the signing of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig in a deal worth an initial €125 million, plus €15 million in add-ons. The 19-year-old is now officially a Los Blancos player after the clubs agreed on a package that could reach €140 million if all performance-related bonuses are triggered.
Record-breaking deal for Madrid
If all add-ons are met, Diomande will become the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history, surpassing the club’s previous record fee for a player. The initial €125 million alone already places him among the most expensive wingers ever and marks a huge return on investment for RB Leipzig, who bought him from Leganés for around €20 million just a year earlier.
Long-term contract and role
Diomande has signed a long-term contract with Real Madrid, with reports indicating a seven-year deal running until 2033. He is expected to be deployed primarily as a right-sided forward in Madrid’s attacking system, adding pace, directness and goal threat to an already star-studded front line.

Real Madrid have won a fierce transfer battle that also involved intense interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City at various stages. PSG had been close to agreeing a deal earlier in the summer, but Madrid’s final offer and the player’s preference for the Bernabéu ultimately secured the transfer.
