13th African Games venues all set and ready to host Africa

With about 13 days until the big showpiece in Ghana, The excitement towards the 13th African Games has seen a massive lift as Ghana hosts the event for the first time since it was founded.

The venues for the big games are already set and ready to host all the countries that will be participating in these prestigious games, with Borteyman being the main venue of the games.

54 African countries with over 700 athletes will be battling for honours in different sporting disciplines like badminton, handball, Football, weightlifting, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, fencing, and tennis.

Below are the venues and their respective games they will be hosting:

Borteyman Sports Complex: badminton, handball, weightlifting, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, fencing, and tennis, plus combat sports like karate, judo, taekwondo, MMA, and wrestling. While the new Aquatic Centre will host swimming and triathlon,.

Legon (Games Village): The game village will be the main games centre for accreditation, transport, and other administrative issues, as well as a venue for wrestling, athletics (track and field), squash, and rugby.

University of Ghana Stadium: The University of Ghana Stadium will host some football games, athletics, and triathlons.

Accra Sports Stadium: The Accra Sports Stadium will host male football, with most of the games focusing on the Black Satellites.

Cape Coast Stadium: Cape Coast Stadium will host female football, with most of the games focusing on the Black Princesses.

Laboma Beach: Beach Soccer and Beach Volley will be staged at Loboma Beach.

Bukom Boxing Arena: Boxing

Theodocia Okoh Hockey Stadium: All hockey games will take place at Theodocia Okoh Hockey Stadium.

Alisa Hotel: Chess will take place at the Alisa Hotel.

Olebu: Cycling

Achimota Oval: Cricket
