Twellium Ghana main sponsors of the just ended McDan ITF world tournament, has congratulated athletes who participated in the sporting event at the Tennis court of the Accra sports stadium.

Speaking to gbcghanaonline, the Marketing Director of the company, Ali Ajami said he was overwhelmed with the level of tennis displayed by the various players during the tournament especially in the doubles and singles finals and believe Ghana will soon produce a world champion due to the experience gain at the event.

Talented Great Britain’s Ryan James Storrie pinned Benjamin Lock of Zimbabwe to win his first professional career title at the McDan ITF World Tour in Ghana in an hour, 30 minutes with the final results at two straight sets (6-4, 6-4).

In attendance was the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Perry Okudzeto, who pointed out the need for sponsorship for all sporting disciplines, noting that the government would provide support for any sporting event which was guaranteed sponsorship from the corporate world.

Executive chairman of the McDan Group of companies, Daniel McKorley, applauds the athletes for an outstanding performance and pledged to bring ITF competitions back into the country.

The developments chief of Tamale (GUDGBA NAA) also promised to help move the Ghana team from Zone Three to Zone Two of the Davis Cup tournaments.

Meanwhile, the President of the Ghana Tennis federation, Isaac Aboagye Duah, believes the competition would make the sport look good in the eyes of everybody especially the youth and help unearth talents.

Twellium Industrial Company Limited has been  the official beverage sponsor of the Mcdan open championships and promised to support the Ghana tennis federation to reach the height the country wants to go.
