Ghana drew 2:2 with Benin in their opening game at AFCON 2019 in the group F campaign.

Pote capitalized on a defensive scramble and drove it home to unsettled the Stars under three mins of play but an emphatic response from Captain Dede Ayew leveled the game.

Crystal Palace star Jordan Ayew put Ghana in the lead just before half time.

The return from the break saw John Boye see a second yellow for time wasting with the first being a bad tackling.

Ten man Ghana couldn’t hold their own regardless of substitutions from coach Kwesi Appiah. Pote took advantage of the numberial disadvantage and got a brace.

The group has been thrown open with Cameroon 2 nil win against Guinea Bissau. Ghana faces Cameroon next on Saturday while Benin takes on Guinea Bissau.
