AFCON qualifier: I wish Thomas Partey a speedy recovery — Coach CK Akonnor

The head coach of the gallant Black Stars, CK Akonnor has sent a good will message to Black Stars Vice-Captain, Thomas Teye Partey wishing him speedy recovery and hopes he joins the team soon.

Coach CK was speaking in a post training press briefing on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the media center of the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Coach Akonnor, however, assured Ghanaians of the readiness of his players ahead of today’s match against Sudan.

The Odumase-Krobo-born star player was on Sunday substituted at half time by Mikel Arteta due to a minor ankle injury he suffered and was replaced by Daniel Ceballos in their premier league game against Aston Villa at the Emirates stadium.

Statement from Arsenal medical team indicated the player suffered a minor sprain in his ankle and will require treatment in the UK.

Defenders: John Boye, Baba Abdul Rahman, Kwadwo Amoako, Christopher Nettey, Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Joseph Attamah, Nicholas Opoku

Midfielders: Emmanuel Lomotey, Afriyie Acquah, Clifford Aboagye

Strikers/Forwards: Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew, Tariqe Fosu, Samuel Owusu, Caleb Ekuban, John Antwi.

Ghana will host Sudan on Thursday, November 12, in a match day three tie at the Cape Coast stadium, a match scheduled for 16:00 GMT kick off. And will travel to Sudan and play the reverse fixture in five days’ time.
