We round up the latest Arsenal transfer news from Tuesday, January 15 – including Mesut Ozil, Conor Coady and Youssef Ait Bennasser.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Unai Emery wishes to sell Mesut Ozil in order to free up funds to sign his own players.
Emery admitted he is only able to make any loan signings in the January window, so finding an exit route for Ozil has reportedly been seen as the solution for the Spaniard to bring midfield reinforcements into the Emirates.
Conor Coady has emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal this window, with the Daily Mail suggesting the centre-back is an option the north London club are considering.
Arsenal are said to be battling it out with Liverpool to bring the 25-year-old defender to the club with Coady seen as a suitable fit for Emery’s back three.
Youssef Ait Bennasser has been targeted by Emery as a potential replacement for Ramsey. Calciomercato says Arsenal are looking at the 22-year-old Monaco midfielder who has impressed under Thierry Henry this season.
The Wales international reportedly underwent the first part of his medical on Sunday, and the deal is expected to be finalised after their Italian Super Cup game against AC Milan on Wednesday.
Denis Suarez is being eyed as a replacement for Ramsey and Emery worked with the former Manchester City player at Sevilla.
