The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has congratulated the Black Stars after their spectacular performance that led to a crucial World Cup victory over South Korea on Monday.

The President’s comment comes after the Black Stars won 3-2 against South Korea to secure three points to avoid early elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In a post on Twitter, the President lauded the Black Stars for their ‘Hard fought, but thoroughly well-deserved victory against South Korea’.

“Kudos to the Black Stars. Hard fought, but thoroughly well-deserved victory against South Korea. Proud of the entire team and the unalloyed support given to them by all Ghanaians. Now to the final group stage game against Uruguay,” the President tweeted.

During the first half, Ghana was leading 2-0, with goals scored by Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.

However, Gue-Sung Cho equalized twice in three minutes after the break before Ajax’s 22-year-old Kudus scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute.

The Black Stars are now set to take on Uruguay in the final Group H match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

  1. Ghana left and right-back defenses are very weak therefore the opponent uses those places to score, if we will check the match between South Korea they always use the wings to control the game by scoring. it will be good if we close the wings side gab unless meeting uruguay won’t be easy for us.
