Mr. Lain Walker, the British High Commissioner to Ghana is set to embark on a bicycle ride  from the Northern part of the country to the South. A statement issued by British High Commission states that the High Commissioners bicycle cycling dubbed “Ghana Grand” is an initiative organized to raise money for Korle-Bu among others.

The statement spells out three key areas targeted. They include tourism, health and the natural environment and also overcoming challenges in general. “The initiative aims to engage different people with different voices doing extraordinary things across Ghana: meet many partners and friends the United Kingdom has worked with within Ghana over the decades and establish new connections along the way” the statement said.

“I want to engage others to confront what they think to be impossible to prove themselves wrong or indeed to join me on the last day of the cycle. I want to challenge myself by cycling 1000km plus from the North to South of Ghana. I am not a professional cyclist. During this trip I plan to celebrate many things that unite the UK and Ghana: heritage, culture, food, values, music and emphasize our efforts to get ahead of the challenges that affect us all: plastic, forest reserves and climate change” Mr. Lain Walker revealed.
