A former BBC Journalist and CAF media official, Ibrahim Saani Daara has thrown a challenge on all media houses across the nation to protect the image of the Ghana Football Association as World Cup 2022 in Qatar approaches.
To him, the media will immensely benefit from the Black Stars qualification, stressing on the need to protect its image.
“I think going into the world cup, the media would now realize that there is something they have also benefited from Ghana qualifying for the world cup. So it’s important that they also try to protect the federation in some ways”.

He condemned the actions of the media to always chastise players and officials as money hungry people.
“What has destroyed the federation the most is discussions about Money, particularly attacking players and officials as money hungry people or players as people who don’t care about the nation. They don’t care about the country and all they think about is money. It destroys everything you have built over the years.
Mr Saani Daara cautioned individuals working in the federation to stop leaking private inside information to their media friends.
“This goes to the authorities that some of these things, we should just manage the communication well not to put it out to the public. In the past, it has been and there are certain people who calculatedly, in certain position of authority go out and leak certain Information to their friends in the media and it comes back to us”.

The former BBC journalist sent a plea to the players to be flexible in the negotiation of their salary and bonuses because they live to serve the country.

“This is a plea to the players that they shouldn’t take a position from now up till the World Cup. On bonus and how much they will earn, they must be flexible. When you are paying for Ghana, you are  serving your nation. If you are playing for Kotoko or any other club team you can say that’s your work so you can make big money there”.
