Cal bank renews marriage with beachsoccer; pumps in ghc150k for super league

Stakeholders of Beach Soccer have been given a massive boost by CAL Bank following their sponsorship package of GHC150,000 for the upcoming Beach Soccer Super League

The competition will feature 16 teams competing for laurels and are expected to be dragged from four regions including Volta, Greater Accra, Central and Western Region with the finals fixed for December 1, 2019

In a short address, the President of Ghana Beach Soccer Association, (GBSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah expressed his delight that the sport has been accepted under the umbrella of the Ghana Football Association to fasten the development for the betterment of the country.

“We have had a lot of challenges over the past years which has helped shape us and I’m grateful to CAL Bank for supporting us over the past nine years and we hope to take the sport to another level especially with it being part of the GFA now,” he said.

He further revealed their readiness to engage in activities to clean the beaches that would host the championship as well as create jobs and boost tourism in the hosting communities.

Marketing Manager of CAL Bank, Kofi Siabi, reveals his company’s commitment to help beach soccer develop and remain optimistic of the great success of the game in the near future.

“It is our belief that we would see an expansion and development of beach soccer as we go along.  Our dream is to make beach soccer bigger in terms of viewership and even become bigger than football,” he said.

He also mentioned their readiness to support the building of Beach Soccer Arena when the right mechanism is put in place by the GFA and GBSA.

The colourful event attracted huge personalities including the Chairman of the Normalization of the GFA, Dr. Kofi Amoah who praised the president of GBSA for his unflinching desire to make the sport popular in the country and remain hopeful that, the adoption of the by the GFA would unclutter new episode in its development.

This launch breathes new life into the sport for a massive revival following the absence of the sport for a while.
