Daniel Agboga elected as new Volta region RFA Chairman

Daniel Agboga has been elected to head the Volta Regional Football Association, (RFA) by popular acclamation.

Mr. Agboga was given a free run for a four-year term by members of congress after standing unopposed on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the conference hall of Freedom Hotel in Ho.

Out of ninety (90) delegates, sixty-nine (69) were eligible to partake in the election.

Twenty-one (21) delegates were disqualified because they didn’t take part in the 2017/18 league season or did not register their players needed to partake in an official match.

This is per article 17 (4) of the GFA 2019 regulations.

Deputy Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, (EC), of Ghana, Eric Dzakpasu  performed the statutory mandate of declaring Daniel Agboga chairman of the regional Football Association after all the delegates voted YES.

Daniel Agboga after the massive acclamation, extended his gratitude to Congress and promise to run all inclusive administration.

“I’m happy to be endorsed as the chairman of the Volta RFA, with all humility, I extend my gratitude to all members of congress for endorsing my Candidature.”

“Football in Volta have seen a lot of development under the leadership of Francis Dogbatse, but a lot still remains to be done. We still have challenges confronting us in all core areas, I’m going to run all inclusive and transparent administration for us to achieve our collective goals,” he said.

 Who is Daniel Agboga?

Prior to his endorsement to become the RFA Chairman, he was the Vice Chairman for the Association and double as the Chairman for the Ho Municipal Football Association.

Mr. Agboga is also the Chief Executive Officer for former Division one side, Dynamo Fc and owner of Dynamo Ladies FC and a Colts club, Dynamo Babies. He was also one time the coach of Winneba Sports College (Windy Professionals)  a then Division One side.

This transition however, is the first time in 17years, the administration of football in Volta region will not be under the leadership of Francis Dogbatse.
