The Senior High School branch of the Seven Great Princesses Academy has been crowned champions of this year’s sports festival held among the various branches of the school on Friday, February 14.

Dansoman SHS participated in athletics, scrabble, basketball and table tennis accrued 380pts to top the 3 school competition which featured Dansoman JHS and Lartebiokorshie JHS.

In the basic level division, Lartebiorkoshie lifted the glittering trophy with 1980pts to beat off competition from Dansoman. The fun filled event saw the two schools rivaling each other in the field of Lime and Spoon, Sack Race, Musical Chairs and Filling the Bottle to the amusements of the parents and the invited guests.

Trophies for the various disciplines and outstanding athletes

The headmaster of the senior high school, Bright Saluma, encouraged the children to emulate the discipline sports offers.

“They have had too much academic work and so we created this opportunity to entertain themselves. We believe in a sound mind resides in a sound body.”

“We want to create a healthy sporting rivalry between the schools under the Seven Great family and I know our aim has been achieved despite our inability to have a bigger field for training and competitions.”

This year’s event marks the 28th edition and it brought together five divisional schools competing for laurels.
