Dreams FC showed their resilience and defied all odds to advance to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals after a pulsating draw against Stade Malien de Bamako at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Riding on the back of a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Malian side in the first leg in Bamako a week ago, the Still Believe lads proved their worth to roar into the last four of Africa’s prestigious interclub competition.

The FA Cup champions joy was truncated as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) denied them a goal from Derrick Atta Agyei, which was ruled out for offside.

Stade de Malien drew first blood in the 59th minute through Yoro Diaby; however, Dreams looked undeterred and unpurterbed as they restored order eleven minutes later through Sylvester Simba to cement their spot in the last four.

The Dawu-based club is awaiting the winner of the game between Modern Future FC and Zamalek SC, with Zamalek leading 2-1 in the first leg.

Karim Zito’s side now stands alongside first-timers MO Bejaia of Algeria and Marumo Gallants of South Africa in the semi-final line-up, marking a monumental journey in the Confederations Cup in their debut season from the group stage, where they finished with 12 out of a possible 18 points.

Coach Karim Zito and his boys have achieved the unthinkable following their exploits, and they’re ready to go a step further and make Ghana proud.
