Find ways to resolve internal wranglings-Prof. Twumasi urges

Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, has urged sporting federations to find ways of resolving their internal wranglings, other than resorting to the law courts.

Sports federations under the NSA, has over the years been affected by series of law suits and counter suits, a situation that has affected the progress and development of these federations.

According to the new NSA Boss, this wranglings within the associations, hinder the progress of our athletes, especially the young ones as they are hugely affected.

Speaking at the launch of 44th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) awards, Professor Twumasi, reiterated the mandate of the NSA, which is to support, manage and promote the sport in the country but stated how this wranglings is continually becoming a stumbling block to the development of sports.

“We should put all differences aside and focus on the development and nurture the talents we have been blessed with,” he said.

He added, “Ghana has abundant of talent in the country, but the problem is, that we don’t have the coaches to help nurture them to realize the potential.

Professor Twumasi, also announced the resumption of national cross country event, which would kick start from February 2-9, 2019 in Mpohor in the Western Region.

The Ghana Taekwondo Federation, Ghana Cycling Federation, Ghana Volleyball Federation, Ghana Athletics Association, have legal cases hanging on their necks over years.
