The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee (NC), has urged Ghana Premier League clubs, to participate in the proposed special competition.
The GFA NC after a meeting with representatives of Premier League and Division, last Tuesday, acknowledged the receipt of alternative competition proposal, by the clubs, but entreated them to follow the laid down procedure due to time constraints.
A statement signed by the Assistant General Secretary, Mark Addo stated that, “In line with the objective to engender the excitement of playing football across the country, we entreat Premier League clubs join hands, with the Division One clubs, to start at the same time,” the statement said.
The statement added that, the GFA NC will adjust the schedule to suit the proposed competition in the future.
“Furthermore, we reiterate that upon securing the  necessary and sufficient funds to support your proposed competition, We would adjust our timelines to accommodate your competition.”
“Due to time constraints and a well laid out plan, we will still proceed with the program as proposed and will appreciate if you participate in the competition as scheduled,” the statement said.
The special competition expected to kick start on January 26 would see a sponsorship package of $800,000 given to participating clubs by government.
