It was a good day for the Stars as Kwesi Appiah scored his first goal on the soil of Ghana through a spot kick. The AFC Wimbledon striker made his debut for Ghana in the 2015 AFCON.

Mauritania played the better part of the first half. They stringed their passes together and gave the defenders a round for their money in the first half. Thomas Partey missed a chance to increase the lead for Ghana in the first as Diaw Namori stopped him.

Two changes in the second half saw Ernest Ekuban and Christian Atsu replaced Kwesi Appiah and Ernest Asante respectively. Ba Adama restored parity for the Lions of Chinguette in the 48th minute. After so more tries at goal, Caleb Ekuban once banged in his second goal for the Black Stars.

With a round of applause the spectators welcomed the replacement of Lawrence Ati with Felix Annan. Then a brilliant strike from Partey made it 3-1 in the 71st minute.

Good preparatory match for both teams. Mauritania will be making their debut at the AFCON in June.
