The Ghana women’s table tennis team (the Black Loopers) bowed out in the quarterfinals stage of the Table Tennis Women’s Teams event on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The team had the chance to book their place in the last four when 13-year-old sensation Juanita Borteye continued her exploit by winning her opening game of the day.

Juanita Borteye has been the star of the Ghana women’s tennis team with some performances which saw her do everything possible to keep Ghana in the competition, as she trashed her South African opponent to win by 3-0.

This performance gave some hope for Ghana to earn a spot in the semifinal stage, but the team generally couldn’t defy all odds thrown at them as they were shown the exit door in this year’s table tennis team tournament.

On the flip side, Celia Danso bottled a 2-0 lead, which saw the Black Loopers women’s national team knocked out of the table tennis women’s teams event. A win from Celia could’ve earned the Black Loopers a spot in the last four.
