Gold Fields West Africa gives financial boost for Black Stars World Cup Campaign

Gold Fields West Africa has presented a cheque for three hundred thousand US dollars ($300,000) to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The gesture was to support the Black Stars FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar.

The presentation ceremony of the cheque for three hundred thousand US dollars by Gold Fields West Africa took place at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Present at the function were the Minister for Youth and Sports Mr. Mustapha Ussif, the deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Mireku Duker, the GFA President Mr. Kurt Okraku and a host of others.

The Executive Vice President and Head of Gold Fields West Africa, Mr. Joshua Mortoti, said they want to boost the morale of the team to deliver at the tournament.

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and member of the Black Stars Fundraising Committee, Mr. Mireku Duker appealed to other mining companies operating in the country to emulate the gesture of Gold Fields.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mustapha Ussif, said the money will be put to go use.

The President of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Kurt Okraku expressed gratitude to Gold Fields for the gesture.

He also urged pressmen and all Ghanaians to support the Black Stars World Cup Campaign.
