GPL: Aduana Stars go top after 12 games

Aduana Stars have replaced Ashanti Gold as leaders of the Ghana Premier League after a 0-1 win away at Dreams FC.

Aduana defender Isaac Kwain’s 78th-minute free-kick from about 25 yards deflected against a 4-man human wall past Dreams goalkeeper Godfred Amoah into the post.

Aduana now leads the 18-team league log on superior goal-difference ahead of Berekum Chelsea

Second-placed Berekum Chelsea hammered King Faisal 4-2 while Kotoko are third after defeating Bechem United 3-1 on Friday.

Meanwhile, leaders after matchday 11, Ashanti Gold suffered their heaviest defeat this season after losing 6-1 to WAFA in Sogakope. A brace from Konadu Yiadom and a goal each from Haruna Jalilu Mola, Daniel Owusu and Ibrahim Abukari WAFA the resounding victory at Sogakope. Amos Kofi Nkrumah scored the consolation goal for Ashanti Gold.

King Faisal are still bottom of the table with five points.
