Great Olympics beat high-spending Legon Cities by shattering them 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday in the Ghana Premier League match day two.

2009 FIFA U20 World Cup winner Gladson Awako was the talk of the match as he darted a piercing free kick home from 25 yards on the 44th minute mark and continued to hog the headlines with his top performance after the interval.

The Wonder Club were even more ruthless after the break after Maxwell Quaye converted a penalty kick which was won by Samuel Quaye on the 53rd minute. Maxwell’s coolly executed free-kick left experienced goalkeeper Fatau Dauda with no chance in between the sticks as he conceded his second goal after returning from the international break.

Samuel Quaye, winner of the penalty, iced the cake for the ecstatic Olympics side as he zoomed in to volley home a powerful shot 7 minutes before the end of the game.

Olympics have now amassed 4 points from their opening 2 games of the season.
