Isaac Dogboe’s Management Denies Nationality Switch

Management of Former WBO junior-featherweight Champion Isaac Dogboe has denied rumors intimating the boxer has switched nationality from Ghana to UK.

Several reports stipulated that the 27-year-old has denounced his Ghanaian citizenship. Dogboe was born in Accra, Ghana, but moved to London, England. Dogboe won the 2013 Amateur Boxing Association British lightweight title, when boxing out of the Territorial Army London BC.

A statement released by his management urged Ghanaians to disregard any news on the boxer’s nationality.

“It has come to the attention of Team Dogboe that a news item is peddling falsehood as to Isaac Dogboe’s nationality. He has and will always fight for Ghana and has not issued any communication or granted any interview on nationality switch. Kindly disregard any switch allegation”.

Isaac Dogboe is billed to participate in a much-anticipated bout with Joet Gonzalez on July 23 at the Grand Casino Hinckley in Minnesota.
