Kiddy Mile takes off April 13 at Elwak Stadium

All is set for the third edition of the Kiddy Mile Race on Saturday, 13th April, 2019 at the El Wak Sports stadium in Accra.

The event which was supposed to have taken place last month will feature over 2000 children from over 50 schools to compete in a mini marathon track races, obstacle challenge, Frindo Soccer Board Game competition and other fun activities.

The program dubbed “Kiddy Mile Race” which is an annual event meant for children between the ages of 3-15 years is aimed at inculcating the habit of good hygiene, healthy living into the children and the promotion of sports among the juvenile.

Director of Kiddy Mile Race, Mrs. Catherine Morton said the 2019 edition has received huge patronage and expressed her joy with the enthusiasm of the kids who are making their debut appearance in the event.

She said, “this season is going to be great where the kids will learn something new in fitness and living healthy life as well as socialising.”

This year’s “Kiddy Mile Race” has attracted the benevolent of Unilever’s Omo, Blue Band, No.8, Dano Milk, BIC, Verna Mineral Water, Allianz and others.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has welcomed the Kiddy Mile Concept and the president, Ben Nunoo Mensah has urged parents to allow their children to get involved in such programmes as kids learn by seeing and taking part.

The annual event is programmed to unearth talents and also instil sporting spirit into the kid.
