My biggest dream is to wear the FIFA badge – Referee Ayamga Gilbert Amoah

A Division One League Referee, Gilbert Ayamga Amoah, who is based in Bolgatanga, capital of the Upper East Region, has registered his readiness in becoming one of the best referees in the world.
Referee Amoah is one of the finest young referees in the Upper East Region.
He was born on  13th February, 1992 and he is a native of Bukere in Bolgatanga Municipality of the  Upper East Region.
The 22 year old referee obtained his Basic Education certificate Examination, BECE, at Awogeya Junior High School in 2013 and proceeded to Gowrie Senior High School where he pursued Financial Accounting.
He joined refereeing in the 2016 as an assistant referee. He was later converted to a center referee by the then Upper East Regional Referees Association of Ghana, RAG, Chairman, Mr. Dawood Ouedraogo.
He was promoted to a division one league referee due to his commitment, hard work and determination.
Mr. Dawwood and his administration who believed in his personality, hard work and commitment and also described him as fast rising referee full of potentials.
Referee Amoah in his refereeing career has supervised over 50 matches in all categories including division three(3), division two(2) and division one(1).
In  addition, he handled matches in some community games dabbed community gala’s,  colts football, friendly matches and festival tournaments in the Upper East Region.
Interacting with a Sports journalist, Aduko Cletus Akosah in Bolgatanga, Referee Amoah said his ultimate goal is to wear the FIFA referees badge and also to officiate in the FIFA World Cup  in future.
He revealed that the toughest match he has ever handled in his refereeing career was a national division two(2) fixture between Zuarungu FC and Black Arrows FC
in 2018.
Referee Amoah is awaiting admission into the University of Education Winneba to study Bachelor of Arts in Gurune and English Education.
“My success all came from my mother, Mr. Dawood Ouedraogo, my  colleges and well wishers” he said.
