Olivier Giroud has landed himself a role in Hollywood movie Spider-Man.

The Chelsea striker announced on Twitter that he will be the voice of the Green Goblin in the new animation blockbuster.

He tweeted: “I am very happy to announce that I will be giving my voice to the Green Goblin in the movie # SpiderManNewGeneration , December 12th at the movies!”

Giroud will be joined on the big screen by France team-mate Presnel Kimpembe.

The PSG defender will voice Scorpion in the film.

He announced: “Spider Man New Generation coming soon!!! Watch out for Scorpion (it’s me). RV December 12”

He will also be the voice over for the Green Goblin

Giroud has managed just one goal for Chelsea this term – in the Europa League win against BATE Borisov last week – with Alvaro Morata preferred in attack.

However, the forward is expected to lead the line for France against Holland on Friday night after Didier Deschamps’ squad was hit by injuries.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette pulled out, just hours after receiving a call-up following an injury to Anthony Martial.

Manchester United forward Martial, along with midfielder Paul Pogba (thigh), withdrew with an abductor injury earlier on Monday.

Both players had reported to the squad’s base at Clairefontaine and were assessed by the France team doctor.

Martial’s absence paved the way for Lacazette to be recalled by Deschamps, but the French Football Federation announced he was unable to join the squad.

The France national team tweeted: “Alex Lacazette will not be able to respond to his summons. This decision was made following an exchange between Dr Franck Le Gall and his Arsenal counterparts.”

He will be replaced by Borussia Monchengladbach striker Alassane Plea in the squad, from which Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy pulled out with a knee problem.

France can secure top spot in Nations League Group A and qualification for the finals when they tackle Holland in Rotterdam on November 16, before hosting Uruguay four days later in Paris.
