Ghana’s midfielder and deputy captain of the Black stars, Thomas Teye Partey, has expressed disappointment in his latest performance with club and Country following two successive knockouts within 48 hours.

Partey was part of the BlackStars squad that exited the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) early at the group stages after a condemning 3-2 defeat to AFCON debutants, Comoros.

After the elimination, the midfielder immediately returned to work and started from the bench for Arsenal in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup where he was sent off for two yellow cards in quick succession.

He was a substitute who replaced Emile Smith Rowe in the 74th minute, he got booked in the 87th minute, before being given his marching orders for a poor challenge in the 90th minute.

Partey wrote on his Instagram handle “Am responsible for anything that happened and will take all the critiques, I should be more intelligent not to get in a challenge already booked but this is my personality I like to fight for every ball.

“I love this club and I love my country even though things sometimes don’t happen how I wanted, I would continue to work harder and make things right.”

“I came back with the mentality to make myself available for team to get to the final. But it did not happen as planned.”

“I will continue to give my all when am on the field of play because this is my life and this is what I chose to do.
