The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has authorised the Ministry of Youth and Sports to release ¢900,000.00 to support Ghana Premier League clubs.
The support, which is to ease the financial burden on clubs in this era of covid-19, has also become necessary due to the directive by government to all premier league matches to be played behind closed doors, a statement issued by the Ministry on Friday, December 4, said.
“Each club is to receive an amount of ¢50,000.00.”
“Other clubs such as Division one, National Women’s League, CAF Champion’s League Representative and CAF Confederation Cup Representative will also receive some financial support from government in due course,” the statement added.
