#SaveGhanaFootball Demo: Protesters boo GFA and Sports Ministry Officials

By Jeremiah Nutsugah

Protesters participating in the ‘Save Ghana Football’ movement booed and dismissed Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Sports Ministry officials who arrived to receive their petition.

The protest stems from the perceived failure of football authorities to address the consistent underperformance of the Black Stars and other national teams.

This frustration intensified after the Black Stars’ recent premature exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, marking the third consecutive major tournament where the team failed to progress beyond the group stage.

Led by Kurt Okraku, the Ghana Football Association is now searching for its fifth Black Stars coach in as many years.

The ongoing demonstration, which began at the Obra Spot in Accra, will pass through Asylum Down and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital before concluding with the submission of a petition at the Ghana Football Association headquarters.

Protesters plan to extend their march to the Ghanaian Parliament before concluding at Independence Square.
