Football fans across the globe witnessed thrilling action from the top 5 leagues in Europe over the weekend.

In the English premier league, Liverpool continued a hundred percent winning start to this year’s league campaign after coming back from a goal down to beat Newcastle 3-1. Goals from Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah helped the Reds secure a fifth win out of five matches. Newly promoted side Norwich City beat defending champions Manchester City 3-2. Manchester City’s lost proved to be the biggest upset among others over the weekend.

Barcelona went back to winning ways in a 5-2 triumph over Valencia. Ansamanne Fati, a 16-year old boy made the headlines for the blaugranas after scoring one and setting up another just 7 minutes into the game.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, two goals from Karim Benzema and a goal from Casemiro helped Real Madrid seal a 3-2 win over Levante.

In the French Ligue 1, the return of Brazilian international Neymar Jr helped Paris Saint Germain to secure a 1-0 win over Strasbourg. An excellent overhead kick in the dying minutes of the game secured the three points PSG needed. Fans of Paris Saint Germain continued to boo the Brazilian international following his want away from the club during the summer transfer window. Neymar on being booed by PSG supporters responded that, “from now on, I am playing all games like away from home.”

Juventus were also  held to a goalless draw by Fiorentina in the Italian Seria A. Juventus enjoyed majority of possession but couldn’t convert their chances into the net of Fiorentina.
