Richarlison signs new deal with Everton until 2024

Richarlison has signed a new long-term deal with Everton, committing his future to the club until 2024.

The forward was Marco Silva’s first signing at Goodison Park in a £40m five-year deal in 2018 and has scored 20 goals in 55 games in all competitions.

Richarlison, who has won 19 Brazil caps, attracted interest from various European clubs during the summer transfer window and Everton rebuffed offers for him in January.

“I intend to be here a long time,” Richarlison told the club’s website.

“This was the club which gave me the opportunity to show my football.”

“It was here I managed to get a place in the Brazil national team and it was here I have scored lots of goals in the Premier League.”

“The club trusts me and I trust them. The supporters have a lot of affection for me and I try to give back all this affection as much as possible on the pitch.”

“I go out and put my life on the line for them. I try to sweat blood and tears for this club. I intend to continue honoring the shirt and making the fans happy.”

The confirmation comes after director of football Marcel Brands revealed on Friday a new deal was in place for the 22-year-old, who has praised Silva for his development in English football.

“My development and progress is clear for everyone to see and Marco Silva has been part of that,” Richarlison added.

“He has my trust and the trust of the whole group. It’s us on the pitch and we are looking to help him as much as possible because Marco Silva is an excellent person.

“I need to continue focusing and being happy here and I think I have made the right decision in extending the contract.

“Now it is time to continue the focus and to make the fans happy.”

Everton sit 17th in the Premier League and face Liverpool at Anfield in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, with Silva under pressure after a run of two wins in their last 10 games.
