Samaria Ladies coach Kwame Aboagye has sketched individual training schedules for players as football season is on hold as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
President Akufo-Addo banned all social gatherings including football activities. It is from this backdrop that coach Kwame Aboagye developed a schedule for the team as the football season experiences a dry spell.
The inactivity which stems from the ban on social gatherings necessitated developing a training pattern for the club, Coach Aboagye disclosed.
“In this era when we are experiencing this pandemic, it is very important to develop a scheme to help the girls maintain their fitness and be active,” said Coach Kwame Aboagye.
The players have since been grouped into 2 groups of 8 with the third group consisting of 10 players. The girls go through individual training such as personal training, jogging, coordination and stomach exercises daily.
Meanwhile, the gaffer is impressed with the players attitude towards the new pattern. “The girls are all doing well and adhering to the instructions from the technical team”.
The Ghana Women’s Premier League side were 6th on the league log in the Southern Zone having won 1, drew 3 and lost 3 games after completing 7 matches in the first round of the league 2019/2020 season.
