Black Maidens Coach Evans Adotey has sent a warning shot to all teams in the U-17 Women’s World Cup to be ready for them because the Black Maidens mean business.
He said this after his team gained qualification to the Quarter Finals in the ongoing 2018 U-17 World Cup.
The Maidens cruised past debutants Finland in a 3-1 to record their second victory in the biennial event.
Goals from Milot Pokua, Abdullai Mukarama and Grace Animah gave the Maidens the points to move to the summit of the table with 6 points and a seven goal difference.
The Finns who came back stronger in the second half could only restore parity through 75th minute goal by substitute Jenni Kantanen. Her goal also is Finland’s first ever goal in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Speaking after the game, an ecstatic and confident Adotey said, “Ghana signaled its warning to all the nations participating in this ongoing tournament that we’re coming into business, well looking at today’s game, 2 games 6 points for Ghana so I am very happy for myself and Ghana as a nation.”
Ghana will slug it out with the Kiwis of New Zealand on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at the Estadio Charrua in Montevideo.
