Captain of the National Female Football Team the Black Queens, has called on fans to troop to the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, to support the team in their last Group A game against Cameroon.

Elizabeth, who came off the bench to score the consolation goal in the team’s 2-1 defeat to Mali said, the team was in a critical stage at this point and so they would need extra motivation to be able to go through a tough challenge against group leaders Cameroon.

The captain said in a pre-match interview that, the fans have been warm to the team so far and it was that kind of support the Queens needed on Friday.

“I would like to thank Ghanaians for their support and ask that they keep supporting us. Our coach has been very helpful but we need the crowd because they are a major source of motivation for us,” Addo said.

“We have learnt a lot from all that has gone on and I feel Ghanaians are expecting so much, but we will take thing one at a time.

Elizabeth noted however, that, “our coach is not harsh towards us,” contrary to reports that, Bashiru Hayford, head coach of the team was rude to the girls.

Black Queens need nothing but a win to extend their stay in a tournament they have been tasked to win for the first time in their history taking advantage as host.
