The agent of Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Sougne Yacouba, Mr. Gyasi Gyantua, has denied reports that the player has agreed to extend his contract with the club.

The management of Asante Kotoko on Saturday had a meeting with the player and both parties agreed that, the player would honour the remaining one year on his contract, but would be allowed to move if better offer comes.

In an interview, Mr Gyantua said the player was still under contract, adding that, “it is never true that Yacouba has agreed to extend contract with Kotoko. He has one more year with the club and has agreed to honour that.”

He added that, the club has agreed to let him go if a better offer comes.

According to Mr. Gyantua, the player would not be forced out of Asante Kotoko because the club has helped him and they deserved a better treatment.

“Kotoko has helped Yacouba and the player too has helped the team so there is no way he would force his way out of the club.”

The prolific striker started training last week after a long absence from the club and looking forward to get his first action in their home game against Bechem United on Wednesday in the Normalisation Committee Special Competition.
