The future of African football is in good hands, as 180 young talents graduated from CAF’s intensive capacity building programmes during the African Schools Football Championship Ghana 2025 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The week-long training sessions that started on 21st April 2025 was climaxed with a closing ceremony on 25th April 2025.

CAF honoured participants who completed these specialized workshops designed to strengthen every pillar of the game with certificates endorsed by CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.

The six workshops included:

– CAF Young Referees Programme

– CAF Young Reporters Programme

– CAF Young Medical Officers Programme

– CAF Safeguarding Programme

– CAF D License Coaching Course

– CAF Women’s Football Development Workshop

The workshops ran alongside the U-15 boys and girls tournament, reinforcing CAF’s commitment to shaping a holistic, self-sustaining future for African football.

CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba and CAF Member Associations Director Sarah Mukuna attended the ceremony to congratulate the graduates. In her address, Mukuna spoke on the broader picture of this initiative.

“The CAF President’s vision of making African football globally competitive and self-sustaining remains alive and very much achievable thanks to such significant achievements,” she said.

“Through this graduation, we urge all participants to make use of this stepping stone by CAF, as it forms part of the building blocks to achieving the CAF President’s bold vision for African football.”

The Young Reporters Programme offered an added incentive. Four outstanding participants out of the 30 U-25 reporters will be selected for an international internship with Canal+ University in France.

The championship climaxes on April 26 2025, with third-place playoffs for the boys and girls U-15 finals.
