Ampem Darkoa secure historic semi-final spot

The Ghana women’s Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa, secured a spot in the semi-finals with an exceptional performance by the Ghanaian winger, Tracey Twum, who scored a brace to defeat the Huracanes.

Facing the crucial task of qualifying for the semi-finals, Ampem Darkoa responded effectively to their previous loss against AS Mande by defeating the Huracanes from Benin. This victory propels them to the semi-finals, where they are set to face SC Casablanca.

Ghanaian winger Tracey Owusu opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a superb free kick, putting Ampem Darkoa in the lead.

Despite Huracanes threatening with opportunities, Ampem Darkoa Ladies controlled the game.

Tracey Twum had a chance to score her second goal after a fine pass from Owusu Ansah, but she shot it off target.

In the second half, Ampem Darkoa doubled their lead early on after a fine pass to Maybel Amoyaw was intercepted by the Huracanes goalkeeper.

Huracanes came close to equalizing in the 60th minute with a long-range shot, but it was tipped onto the crossbar by Ampem Darkoa. Substitute Nyanyimanya Gnabekan secured the third goal for Ampem Darkoa in the 88th minute.

Despite Huracanes pulling a consolation goal late in the game, the match ended 3-1 in favour of Ampem Darkoa. Twum scored her second goal from a rebound, sealing the victory for the Ghanaians.
