Black Stars winger Christopher Baah Bonsu is poised to depart Ghana on Tuesday to finalize his transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.

The 20-year-old is set to travel to Belgium before completing the deal, which is reported to be worth approximately €16.2 million.

Genk, his current club, has accepted the bid and is preparing to cash in on the talented winger this summer. Baah Bonsu is scheduled to undergo his medical examination in Madrid on Friday, June 27.

Following successful completion of the medical, discussions will take place regarding the final details of his long-term contract, and he will then put pen to paper.

Afterward, the Ghanaian international will join his new team in the Netherlands for pre-season training before heading to Saudi Arabia for the 2025/26 season.

Since joining Genk in 2023 from Norwegian side Sarpsborg, Bonsu Baah has made a significant impact, making 90 appearances across all competitions. During his time at the Belgian club, he scored five goals and provided seven assists, showcasing his pace and attacking prowess.

His performances have attracted interest from various European clubs, including Premier League newcomers Sunderland, who were keen on signing him before he opted for a move to Saudi Arabia.

Bonsu Baah’s international debut for Ghana came recently during the Unity Cup in London, where he impressed many with his performances against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago.

His debut drew praise and highlighted his potential on the international stage. His decision to move to Saudi Arabia was driven by the desire to gain more playing time and experience, with hopes of returning to European football in the future.

Although he was being courted by Premier League club Sunderland, Bonsu Baah and his entourage preferred a move to the Saudi Pro League.

The player’s focus remains on developing his career with the aim of making a return to Europe later, after gaining valuable experience and exposure in the Middle East. His move marks a significant step in his career and highlights his rising profile as a promising talent for both club and country.
