The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially approved the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 competition, a prestigious pre-season event organised by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA). Scheduled to take place from August 20 to 24, 2025, the tournament will be held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. It aims to provide essential match practice for Ghana’s leading clubs ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

This year’s edition will feature four of Ghana’s top-flight teams: reigning league champions Bibiani Gold Stars, along with Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak. These clubs will use the tournament as a platform to fine-tune their squads, integrate new players, and build momentum for the 2025/26 campaign.

The GFA has expressed its confidence in the participating clubs’ commitment to upholding professional standards throughout the tournament. Emphasizing the importance of discipline, organisation, and fair play, the association called on all stakeholders—including clubs, referees, media, and supporters—to adhere strictly to the guidelines set for the competition to ensure a seamless and successful event.

In addition to providing competitive action on the field, the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 is expected to generate excitement and set the tone for the Ghana Premier League season ahead. Organisers anticipate that the tournament will help clubs identify strengths and areas for improvement as they prepare to challenge for honours in the 2025/26 season.
