Sibo’s influence was evident throughout the contest, as he played a key part in both legs of the decisive fixture.

Throughout the season, the 26-year-old made a significant impact for Oviedo, featuring in 38 matches and contributing one goal and one assist. His consistent performances helped steady the team’s midfield and guided them through the challenging promotion campaign. His presence on the pitch underscored his importance to the team’s overall success and their journey back to Spain’s elite league.

In the crucial match, Sibo started and played for 108 minutes before being substituted, highlighting his vital role in midfield. His ability to control the tempo and break up opposition plays was critical in maintaining Oviedo’s resilience during the intense moments of the game. His endurance and composure under pressure exemplified his value to the squad during their historic playoff run.

The comeback was sparked by former Arsenal and Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla, who scored a composed penalty late in the first half to reduce Oviedo’s deficit. Moroccan forward Ilyas Chaira then equalized in the second half, sending the tie into extra time. In the additional period, Francisco Portillo scored a spectacular winner, sealing Oviedo’s return to the top flight and completing a dramatic turnaround.
